Penn & Teller always tells the truth, if you don't agree it because you can't see through the bullshit.
They pretty much always tell the truth, and always mean well, but I think they over-simplify some issues.
Of course, if they succeed in their mission of teaching *how* to think instead of *what* to think, that's good enough.

if you don't agree it does not effect the truth of a point but they do have a habit of over simplifying things and they do have a point of view, Penn was a teabagger on the Glen Beck Fox Noise Channel earlier this year I am a democrat but a logical one who if he dealt with only logical democrats he would speak only to his father and reflection, I assume the Penn is a Republican to some degree and give the benefit of the doubt to him because he does seem to be quite fair and usually you know the point of view he has because he declares it in the shows usually more than once
Penn & Teller are libertarians, not republicans. That means they stand up for the individual and individual rights in a way that neither religious, conservative republicans or big government democrats ever do.
By describing them as over simplifying...don't you really mean...just whining? Anybody can have a rant show. Mort Downey did the same thing. Only showing their facts and figures...that's the real "bullshit" eat it up..penns got seconds to go around...like his attacking AA just because he can't sober up! What a wimp..it didn't work for me..so it doesn't work...wahhh waHHH WAHHH
Penn & Teller never said AA doesn't work, they just point out the BS in AA, like the religious aspect of it.
Do you watch their shows? They have topics such as second-hand smoke, Ground Zero, and obesity. They're not ranting against them, they're just skeptics pointing out the BS related to them, in a hilarious way. They don't take themselves very seriously, and even tell you they're lying about some of the things they're saying. I mean c'mon, this episode was about orgasms...

Its definitely not a show for anyone who is highly religious, that's for sure.
I do enjoy watching their shows and find myself not always on the same side as them. But I still enjoy watching their show. They always put forth some really strong evidence for their case. Which is almost always convincing.

Pothead42024 you are an idiot if you think Penn is a Republican. He is VERY openly and vocally a Libertarian. And as you say "he declares it in the shows usually more than once", but if you can't tell the difference you don't deserve to be told...
Thanks a lot for the seed!
And now for something completely different . . . a comment about the shows actual content.
Something people who are into "Buddhist" tantra are seriously deluded. The Buddha taught his monks that they would be better off putting their members into the mouth of a snake than into a woman.
Lay people who want to jump on the Buddha bandwagon should be informed about what the buddha taught non monastics, which was basically the five primary Sila or "precepts".
1. I undertake the precept to refrain from destroying living creatures.
2. I undertake the precept to refrain from taking that which is not given.
3. I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual misconduct.
4. I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech.
5. I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which lead to carelessness.
The Buddha also clearly stated that he taught only the nature of suffering and its cessation. People who spin the Dharma into some sort of tantric nonsense are simply peddling BULLSHIT!
